Happy 2016 Dennis. I'd love to chat with you about the old (well, compared to you) semi-old days at Speed Service and Metro Messenger. I too feel the need to put this bit of history down somewhere because it really has been forgotten. But what a vital time it was - as you said, a good thing that will never happen again. I was #54 at Metro on motorcycle and bicycle in the early 80s, I started with Speed Service but they changed rider numbers when a lower numbered rider left - I ended up at #19 there.
